Applying your screen protector correctly can be troublesome. Often bubbles and dust can ruin the task. Luckily, we have put together a simple step by step guide below on how to best apply your screen protector.
What you will need:
- Screen protector
- Credit card or thick card
- scotch tape/post it sticky notes
Before you begin: The first thing you need to do is find a clean and dust free workplace. You should also clean your hands and dry them thoroughly to avoid any material falling onto the surface.
1 - Clean the screen. Wipe it with a mild solvent like eyeglass cleaner or rubbing alcohol--or a damp soapy rag. Rub it dry with a soft cloth ensuring nothing remains on the surface.
2 - Before you lift its backing, position the screen protector over the screen to see how much margin to leave on each side and ensure clearance of features such as camera cutouts and microphone holes.
3 - Remove residual bits of dust with a mild adhesive. Dust is the most important thing to remove from under a screen protector: bubbles will eventually diffuse out through the plastic and tiny finger marks will probably merge with the glue, but dust specks stay. Lightly dab a scotch tape / sticky note (such as a "Post-it") all over the screen. Looking at the reflection of a bright area in the screen at an angle will confirm the presence or absence of dust. Quickly attach the screen protector before dust can gather!
4 - Remove the about 2 inches of the film on the back of the screen protector. Line up the top of the screen protector with the screen on your device and apply.
5 - Slowly start to apply the screen protector while removing the film on the back of the protector ensuring that the angle is correct and the protector is straight. You can use a credit card to apply the protector smoothly.
6 - Once the screen protector has been applied you can use the credit card to smooth over the applied screen and remove any bubbles (don't worry if any bubbles are leftover, they will disappear in time)
7 - Use a cloth to wipe away and dusk or fingerprints on the outside of the screen protector.
All done! You can use the below diagram for guidance.
